US law firm Greenberg Traurig has added another shareholder to its recently launched Singapore office after hiring Jake Robson to co-lead the office and head its South and Southeast Asia M&A practice. Robson joins from King Wood & Mallesons, where he held a similar role.

Robson, who joined KWM from Morrison & Foerster in 2020, advises on cross-border transactions. He also advises clients on venture capital fundraisings and financial services distribution transactions across sectors including technology, media & telecommunications, infrastructure, financial services, fintech, real estate, and logistics.

Prior to joining MoFo in 2013, Robson was at Norton Rose Fulbright for more than 15 years.

“His impressive record, best known for building M&A practices and offices from scratch for two global law firms in Singapore, makes him a fantastic fit for our office there,” said Richard A. Rosenbaum, executive chairman of Greenberg Traurig, in a statement.

Greenberg Traurig established its Singapore office in April last year after hiring a trio of lawyers from Hogan Lovells as shareholders, including Joseph Kim and William Wu. It relocated another shareholder, Jared Raleigh (also ex-Hogan Lovells), from Tokyo.

The Singapore office currently has six lawyers, including the six shareholders.
